Hello,

I am Dr. Marilyn Ruman and in my position as Director of Student Support Services, I direct the Learning Center and Student Counseling Program with the mandate to provide support, instruction, and professional guidance for students, faculty, administration, and families.

Student Support Services was created to provide for the needs of our students with learning differences and students who require emotional and or social support while attending Besant Hill School. Our vision is not only to enhance student potential but to embrace and maximize the facility of our staff and faculty to meet our community’s challenges. In addition, we provide a voice and center to coordinate professional services that are provided to our students by professionals in the community and to respond to the concerns of our families.

The Student Support Services Program currently offers specific programs:

(1) An Instructional Support Program

(2) Counseling and Life Skills

(3) Student Support Committee.

Our Learning Center Programs are assisted by Jim Nye, MA, Jules Hoffenberg, and Kim Faust, who are learning specialists, teachers and tutors.
